A parked car in downtown Johnstown created quite a ‘buzz’ Wednesday afternoon after it was suddenly covered by a massive swarm of bees.
The swarm settled on the side of an SUV parked along Franklin Street across from the post office.
The bees formed a dense cluster stretching across the driver’s side door and mirror drawing crowds of onlookers.
The vehicle’s owner says she parked the car and went into a nearby building, only to come back and find thousands of bees covering it.
She says she believes workers had been removing a hive from a building nearby and believes the queen may have ended up on or inside her vehicle.
The swarm remained on the parked vehicle for several hours before a beekeeper was called in to safely handle the situation.
No injuries were reported.
