Your help to make sure people in our community have the basic necessities needed for winter. The free store 15901, is planning a pop up shop here at the YWCA in Johnstown on Saturday, November 20th for tent from ten to two.
People in need can go to this event on that day and get winter clothing, shampoo, body wash toothpaste and other basic hygiene items for free. So up until November 10th, you can drop off items at eight different locations throughout the area, including Millhouse Cafe, Cambria City Flowers and the YWCA, to name a few.
Organizers say this program is based off of Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman and his wife, Gisele’s free store, which is based in the Pittsburgh area, and that’s been around for almost ten years.
“Some of the things that we need basic human needs and goods are the most expensive and disposable, so we recognize that there’s always a gap for things like that in Johnstown and Greater Johnstown. Everyone is welcome at all times. We hope that that can kind of meet the gap and fill that gap for folks.”
Definitely a great organization and for the full list of drop off locations excepted.
