The Dubois Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League Golden Gloves competition is happening Saturday Night at the Dubois Country Club.
Among those competing is Aviana Gillaugh a Dubois native.
She says she’s been boxing since she was 9 and is scheduled to compete for a Western Pennsylvania Championship this Weekend
There are limited general admission tickets still available for Saturday’s event.
Bell time is scheduled for 7:30 Pm.
Available tickets are $30-a piece and proceeds benefit the Dubois WPAL.
“Before I started the sport, I had a bit of an attitude problem, and as soon as I got into the sport, I realized that it was wrong and very rude of me the way I would act towards my friends and my family. It made me realize I needed to change my attitude. And change the way I looked at things. And it definitely helped me a lot. It teaches you a lot of discipline.”
