A Centre County man remains behind bars charged with attempted homicide in the shooting of another man.
Gary Sinderson has the details.
Kyle Hockenberry of Bellefonte is facing felony charges stemming from what state police initially termed a domestic dispute.
Police say Hockenberry shot another man in the leg with a shotgun after a truck Hockenberry was in, caught fire in the driveway of the man’s home in Worth Township.
Ironically police said the shooting victim helped rescue Hockenberry from the burning truck before being shot.
According to police both men said they had been drinking earlier Wednesday. Hockenberry initially fled the scene on a four wheeler, but then returned and was taken into custody.
The man shot was hospitalized in Altoona, and is expected to recover.
Hockenberry is facing several charges and jailed on 250 thousand dollars bail
