Wolf Veto’s House Bill

On Monday, Governor Wolf announced his decision to Veto House Bill 2787, which would allow School Districts to decide if fans and spectators would be permitted at sporting events for High School games and how many. Governor Wolf says it’s not realistic with the Virus continuing to impact Pennsylvania.

In response, Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff released a statement on Monday, saying: “In Vetoing the Bill, Wolf is standing directly opposed to children and families looking for some normalcy by playing in School sports.” He also says: “The Governor is going back on his word and desire for educational decisions to be made on the local level” and “Over the last 6 months, Wolf has given confusing and inconsistent dictates.” Benninghoff says they will vote to override the Governor’s Veto.
