Windber Halloween Parade

An annual Halloween parade took the streets of Windber during the afternoon of Halloween.

It’s organized by the Windber Fire Department every year.

Police cars, fire trucks, and ambulance vehicles traveled the streets, along with Windber majorettes and many families in costumes.

Maria Bonitz, organizer of the parade, says it was important to still have this parade during the COVID-19 pandemic for community morale.

“Kids don’t get to see everybody anymore, so why not do something to lift community spirits. That’s clearly what we’re all about. We are very tradition driven. We try to keep the tradition alive,” Bonitz said.
