Winber Strangulation Charges

Windber police say a kid stabbed a man with a chef knife after the man broke into his home and began strangling his mother.

Authorities say the man who was stabbed, 32-year-old Brandon McAllister, faces charges related to strangulation, burglary and terroristic threats.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Windber Borough Police Department, officers were called Monday evening to the Sheetz located on Graham Ave. for reports of a man who had been stabbed.

Police say they arrived on scene to find a Sheetz employee tending to McAllister who was seated at the outside table area.

The Sheetz employee was holding napkins over McAllister’s shoulder to control the bleeding, police say.

McAllister told police that he was stabbed at a nearby apartment by a kid while he was fighting with the kid’s mother, the complaint says.

Police say McAllister had two stab wounds and appeared to be intoxicated, so he was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Police say they located the woman and interviewed her.

They say she told them that McAllister climbed through her second story window using a ladder and was found in a bathtub.

The woman said that McAllister then placed both hands around her neck and said, “I’m going to kill you,” according to the criminal complaint.

The woman said her son tried to stop McAllister, but when McAllister continued to punch and hit his mom, he grabbed a knife and stabbed the man twice in the back, the complaint says.

McAllister then fled the scene and ended up at Sheetz, according to police.

He’s being held in the Somerset County Prison.
