Vaccine Progression

The United States is making major progress with the Coronavirus Vaccine distribution. On Friday, the Country reported a record high for shots administered. However, Officials once again say people must avoid “Pandemic Fatigue.”

As more Americans line up for a COVID-19 Vaccine, the Country gets closer to some semblance of normalcy. Following State Guidelines, the Elmcroft Senior Living community in New Mexico is relaxing restrictions for Occupants who are fully vaccinated. Dierdra Walker, the Executive Director of Elmcroft Senior Living saying: “It gives our residents the ability to not only have an inside visitation, but to be able to hug their family members that come visit them or hold hands, or touch them in some way, which hasn’t happened in over a year.”

Although the U.S. is inching toward Herd Immunity, Health Officials stress this is not the time to get complacent. CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Leana Wen adding: “It’s not about zero risk. We’re not going to be able to get to zero risk, but we can help people to manage the risk and to reduce that risk as much as possible.”

More than three-dozen States are making Vaccines available to anyone at least 16-years-old. This comes as the average number of new COVID-19 cases are rising in 20-States over the last week. Dr. Leana Wen saying: “The vast majority of adults have to be vaccinated in order to protect those who are not yet able to get the vaccine, including our children.”
