Tyrone Stabbing

Tyrone police say a teenager is being charged as an adult for reportedly stabbing a 26-year-old man Tuesday afternoon, according to a release.

Police say on Tuesday, around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a “disturbance” at a home along the 600 block of Washington Ave. in Tyrone.

Authorities say a 17-year-old male suspect told officers that he had stabbed the man, who was reportedly known to him.

Police say the teenager, who has not been identified, was taken into custody and is being charged as an adult with criminal attempted homicide, as well as charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment.

Investigators say the knife used to stab the man was found in the teen’s possession.

The victim, who was also not identified, was found by officers outside the residence, police say, and was transported to UPMC Altoona. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police add that the teen has since been arraigned to Blair County Prison, on $300,000 bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 25th.
