A Cambria County judge has denied a motion to have a West Virginia man’s post-sentence appeal rights reinstated, according to the Cambria County District Attorney’s office.
Chase Turner filed the motion last month after being convicted of causing the deadly, wrong-way crash on Route 219 that claimed the life of a Johnstown woman.
On Tuesday, Judge Patrick Kiniry denied Turner’s request and dismissed the motion, authorities say.
Turner was sentenced last summer to serve 8-16 years in prison in the deadly DUI crash, from May of 2018, that claimed the life of 20-year-old Olivia Red and seriously injured her passenger.
Turner was convicted last May on all seven charges he faced, which included homicide by vehicle while under the influence.
