Troopers in Somerset County say a domestic incident, which authorities first believed to be a hostage situation, Wednesday morning has been peacefully resolved.
Troopers were called to a home in the area of Reading Mine Road.
According to state police, a woman called 911 for help around midnight after a man inside the home was suffering from mental health issues.
Troopers clarified that the woman was not being held against her will, as authorities originally believed.
They say weapons were also reported to be inside the house, so responders set up a perimeter to ensure the safety of everyone else in the area.
A 302 mental health warrant was issued, and the man was eventually convinced to come outside after several hours.
Troopers say the man is being evaluated by behavior health officials.
