Pittsburgh Steelers news, the team has set their 53 man roster. The roster, released Saturday was left without a few notable names. Wide-Reciever, Ryan Switzer was one of the most notable Steelers released.
Switzer had spent the last two seasons playing for Pittsburgh, primarily as a special teams player and occasional slot reciever.
Other notable players released include Running Back, Trey Edmunds Backup Quarterback, Paxton Lynch Defensive Lineman Daniel McCuller and Wide Reciever Deon Cain.
Pittsburgh coach, Mike Tomlin spoke with media after the final practice of camp saying.
“I feel like I have enough information to make decisions and that’s a good thing because it’s time to make decisions.”
Tomlin continued saying,
“I thought we made good use of the time and good use of the structure of time that was provided in terms of the work allotted.”
According to an NFL insider Pittsburgh Steelers also have reportedly let go of Backup Quarterback, Devlin Hodges notably known as Duck
The insider says, this move was to make room on the roster for another Backup Quarterback, Josh Dobbs. Hodges was signed last season as a free agent and went 3 for 3 as a started.
He did so while filling in for injured Ben Roethlisberger and backup Mason Rudolph.
