Steelers Make Roster Moves

While Sullivan is staying, many Pittsburgh Steelers are now leaving

Pittsburgh made cuts to reach mandatory the 53-man roster size

Some of those cuts come at a surprise especially for Penn State fans

Linebacker and former Nittany Lion Marcus Allen was cut

Allen played in 33 games and started in 3 since being drafted by the Steelers in 2018

Pittsburgh believes that Rookie LB Mark Robison from Mississippi will take over his role

However Allen is expected to be brought back after they put Safety Demontae Kazee on the IR who was injured in the preseason finale against Detroit

A few other big names let go include

Cornerback Justin Layne and Running Back Anthony McFarland

The Steelers made other moves including a trade with the Denver Broncos for Linebacker Malik Reed and they acquired Offensive Lineman Jesse Davis from the Minnesota Vikings

Steelers ended the preseason 3-0

First game of the season is next Sunday at Cincinnati
