A Somerset man is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl for more than a decade starting in 2006, state police say.
According to charging documents filed by state police, 39-year-old Eric Burnsworth faces charges of child rape, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child.
Troopers say they received a referral from Children and Youth Services in May about the sexual abuse of a preteen girl.
The girl told investigators that Burnsworth sexually molested her in “any way possible” daily up until 2018, the criminal complaint reads.
The girl said that Burnsworth told her that if she ever told anyone about the assaults, she would not be able to walk and talk again, according to state police.
Burnsworth is free on unsecured bail.
He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 16.
