Authorities in Somerset County say a Rockwood area man is behind bars following a months-long investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted two young, female relatives.
Police say Rodger DeArmitt II, now age 21, of Black Township, is accused of repeatedly abusing the two victims, over a multi-year period, at a residence in Somerset Borough.
According to the affidavit, police say both victims described multiple incidents of alleged sexual abuse and DeArmitt reportedly “forcing himself” on them.
Investigators say both victims were under the age of 13 at the time of the alleged abuse, which reportedly began in 2019 and continued until 2021.
Police say during an interview in April of this year, DeArmitt reportedly admitted to sexually assaulting the two girls.
According to online court records, DeArmitt was arraigned Monday on a variety of charges, including multiple counts of rape by forcible compulsion, incest of a minor, aggravated indecent assault of a child and sexual assault.
He is being housed at the Somerset County Jail on $300,000 bail.
