The man killed in a Hollsopple mining accident Wednesday has been identified.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees identified the victim as 44-year-old Paul Springer.
The incident happened at a location on the 1200 block of Penn Ave., authorities say.
Springer was working three miles back in the mine when a piece of rock broke off of the wall and pinned him against a machine, Lees said.
Springer was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he died in the emergency room.
The coroner’s office and federal mine inspectors are investigating.
