Sideline Cancer vs. Team 23

It was Game Night for Sideline Cancer on Saturday in their Quest for a Million Dollars. The Team almost cashed in on the 7-figure prize last year in The Basketball Tournament as runners-up. This year, Sideline Cancer fought hard attempting to claim the cash.

In their last game, the Bucketneers needed one point to win. Marcus Keene however had other plans. With the money on the line, Keene knocked down three to reach 58 points first and win the game. On Saturday, Sideline Cancer took on Team 23 in the Quarterfinal Round. Both teams have been runner-up in this Tournament. Neither have won the Million Dollars yet.

This Quarterfinals Game took place in Dayton, Ohio.

Team 23 started this game on an 8-0 run. Former Nittany Lion Trey Lewis gets the Offense going with the assist to Eric Thompson. In the beginning of the Second Quarter, Sideline trailing another 8. Marcus Keene pressures, steals, and makes a strong finish. He’s had some unbelievable shots in this Tournament.

With only a minute left in the First Half, Sideline still playing catch up. Lewis again, this time for three. Lewis putting in work behind the arc.

In the Third Quarter, Sideline within 4. Lewis hits another triple. He went 4-6 from three point land. With the Game tied at 48, Keene gets Sideline Cancer the lead.

As this Game winds down, the first team to score 78 points Wins. Team 23 needs just two points. Sideline needs 10. Lewis hot behind the arc and sinks one.

However, Team 23 was able to score two points first to win 78-71. Sideline doesn’t win the Million Dollars, but they managed another deep run in The Basketball Tournament again this year.
