The annual Shanksville Community Picnic wrapped up in Somerset County Tonight bringing in generations of families.
Community members could enjoy games, live music, food, and even a fireworks show Tonight.
Organizers say the picnic means so much to the community that they just couldn’t cancel it last year during covid so they hosted a drive through picnic.
This annual family tradition benefits the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department.
“It’s all about the community. This is the benefit for the fire department, but the community and the community spirit means more to me than anything. Just to see people coming out and having a good time, is probably one of the most important things, and being around friends and family.”
Brant said the picnic is one of the fire department’s largest fundraisers of the year.
