SFU Athletics Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

An employee at Saint Francis was honored for her dedication to the University on Wednesday. The Red Flash Athletics Department held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for its new Basketball Performance Center. It’s named in honor of Maureen Malloy, better known to the Students as “Mo.” She serves lunch in the Dining Hall, and on Game Day you’ll find her taking action photos, memories she collects and shares with all the Student-Athletes.

Saint Francis University President Fr. Malachi Van Tassell saying: “As you know she has an array, a collection of photographs from across the decades. It’s an indicator of progress and you can see how the Red Flash family and Athletics Programs have grown by leaps and bounds since she’s been here.” Rob Krimmel, the Men’s Basketball Head Coach adding: “The best way I can describe Mo when people talk about Mo: She’s the mom. She’s the mom away from home. Did you eat your vegetables? Clean up after yourself? Take your dishes back. More importantly just to put that arm around you. The hugs you see when we come into a place like that. That’s what makes this place so special.”

Saint Francis Alums Steve and Jean Rogers donated the money to build the new weight room. It’s located inside the Stokes Athletics Center.
