Ryan Blaizer Sentenced

A former Bellwood-Antis wrestling coach convicted of child sex assault will face decades behind bars, officials say.

In October, a Blair County jury found Ryan Blazier guilty of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16, institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, and intimidation of a
victim or a witness in a child abuse case.

Investigators say Blazier sexually assaulted two students while he was serving as coach in the Bellwood-Antis School District.

Blazier was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday morning.

He was sentenced to an aggregate term of not less than 21 years to not more than 42 years incarceration with lifetime registration and sexual offender classes in prison, according to
Blair County District Attorney Pete Weeks.

“We believe the judge imposed an appropriate sentence based on the defendant’s role as a coach and the impacts his assaults have had on the victims and community,”
