Rumble Through The Valley

After Thunder In The Valley’s cancellation in 2023 another event looked to fill the void of the long-running bike rally.

Now that event is headed into its second year and organizers are saying it’s expanding.

Reporter Brock Owens has more on what you can expect to see this year.

Rumble Through The Valley is set for its second year on the same weekend as Thunder In The Valley normally was.

“We never really looked at it as a replacement of Thunder. What Thunder did was 25 years of bringing great entertainment and excitement into the area, building the area, filling up the hotels.
So, whenever Thunder left we did look at filling the void of that weekend. We know we’re never going to be a national type event. That was not our plan to do it, it was more add another local event.”

The inaugural Rumble Through The Valley was organized after Visit Johnstown’s announcement they were stepping down from organizing Thunder.

“last year we had three months to deal with trying to get everything together. We put on a great event last year in the three months that we had. This year we have a year.”

Having more time to put rumble through the valley together is leading to growth according to organizers who say the event will be two days this year.

One organizer Duaine Detrick reveals some details about the event coming on June 27th and 28th Including games and food and drink vendors.

“Live music both days from 12 noon to 11 p.m. With a lot of good regional bands and our headliner this year is a Guns n’ Roses tribute band from Kentucky called ‘Use Your Illusion’ so we’re pretty excited about that.
We’re also going to have a motorcycle and car cruise again, so people can come and show off their vehicles in one of the parking lots outside of PNG Park. We’re also chancing off a condo vacation package in Myrtle Beach.”

The event is still set to be ages 21 and older in PNG Park But organizers say anyone can be around the activities happening outside the park.
