Rt 40 Landslide

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says Route 40 is closed near the Somerset County line after a landslide brought trees and debris down onto the road.

According to PennDOT, the closure is in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County between the intersection of Route 281 and the Somerset County line.

They say the road will be closed until crews can evaluate the situation and remove the debris from the road.

As for a detour, PennDOT says drivers can use Route 281 to Confluence and Route 523 to Route 40.
