Officials with the Mount Union Fire Department confirmed that the victim of Thursday morning’s crash along Route 22 was one of their own.
Fire officials confirmed that the victim, identified as 47-year-old Terry Morder Jr., was the department’s former chief.
“It is with heartfelt sadness that the Mount Union Fire Company announce the passing of Past Chief Terry Morder Jr.,” the department said in a statement.
Morder Jr. was killed early Thursday morning when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in the area of Route 22 and Oriskany Road in Brady Township.
The Huntingdon County coroner’s office says that an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
