Another member of the Cambria County Sheriff’s office has died with COVID-19, acting sheriff Don Robertson announced Tuesday night.
Robertson says Deputy Ross Dixon passed away Tuesday after a tough fight with the virus.
Dixon was a husband, father and friend, Robertson said.
“My family and my Fellow Deputies are devastated,” Robertson wrote on Facebook. “Our heart goes out to the love of his life ,Kathy. We will miss you Ross. We will honor you by continuing to serve with pride, and professionalism. Just like you did everyday. I will see you again someday my friend.”
According to the Cambria County Sheriff’s Office, Dixon was employed as a county deputy sheriff since 2005 and worked many posts throughout the courthouse.
They said Dixon could be found every Monday morning working the front door with a smile on his face.
