On Tuesday, the CDC announced a new mask recommendation for anyone using public transportation such as trains, planes, and buses.
This led to some confusion being that the mask mandate ended just a few weeks ago.
According to the CDC, this new masking recommendation is based on current COVID-19 data, trends, and projections in the United States.
The CDC is encouraging operators of public transportation and transportation hubs to support mask wearing by passengers and employees, but masks do not have to be mandated for public transportation unless the mandate is coming from TSA.
“Public transportation follows TSA recommendations and guidelines and this came from the CDC. So, the minute that the TSA regulation was removed we were good to go and proceeded as we saw fit.”
There are currently no masking requirements on Camtran’s services, but officials encourage passengers to do whatever makes you feel safe.
