Another Penn State student has died due to COVID-19, university officials confirmed
The university is sharing its condolences to the family and friends of 20-year-old Neil Patel.
According to a GoFundMe page, Patel was hospitalized at Penn Medicine in March and was put on a ventilator in April.
The family posted an update Sunday saying Patel has “moved on to his next journey.”
Penn State officials say Patel was a sixth semester Smeal undergraduate student.
They say Penn State Student Affairs has been in touch with his family and is offering support to those impacted.
In July of 2020, 21-year-old Penn State student Juan Garcia died of respiratory failure and COVID-19.
