Pittsburgh Man Arrested

Johnstown police have charged a Pittsburgh man after he conspired to rob a woman near Solomon Homes late Saturday night and then ran her over with a pickup truck while fleeing the scene, according to a criminal complaint.

Police say 25-year-old Denzelle Kendrick faces charges of criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and robbery.

Authorities say officers were dispatched to Solomon Homes, around 10 p.m. Saturday, for a report of a stabbing.

Police say when officers arrived on scene, they found that the victim had actually been run over by the suspect vehicle, which was being operated by Kendrick.

Investigators say Kendrick, and an unidentified male passenger, fled towards Route 56 and onto Route 219, where police pursued them into Somerset County.

Police say the two men were eventually apprehended approximately one mile prior to the Davidsville exit.

Upon further investigation, police reviewed surveillance video at Solomon Homes, which showed the female victim running from the truck.

Police say the woman tripped while running, as the truck began chasing her at a high rate of speed.

Investigators say further video surveillance showed the unknown male exit the truck and begin assaulting the victim while she laid on the ground.

Police say Kendrick then exited the vehicle and attempted to take something, later identified as a purse, from the victim.

Officers say video then shows the victim attempting to take back her possession, at which time Kendrick flees the scene and the victim, who was standing near the passenger side of the vehicle, is knocked to the ground by the truck’s rear tire.

Kendrick was arraigned early Sunday morning by Magisterial District Judge Kevin Price, and is being housed at the Cambria County Prison.

The identity and any related charges against the other suspect have not been announced, and the condition of the victim is unknown.
