Pirates Win Series with the Cubs

The month of June has been rocky for the Pirates. They started out strong by sweeping the Dodgers and taking the Series over the Arizona Diamondbacks. After that, the Buccos went on a 9 Game losing streak. On Thursday, in the Series Finale against the Chicago Cubs, the Pirates claimed another Series Win in Extra Innings.

Pirates started the afternoon matinee strong with Homers from Bryan Reynolds in the the First Inning and another by Ke’Bryan Hayes in the Third for a 2-Run shot. Oneil Cruz almost added a Homer. Cruz bounces off the Centerfield wall and the Buccos had a 6-3 lead after 7 Innings of play. The Cubs would however score 5 Runs in the 8th to take the lead. Michael Chavis was the unsung hero of this game. Chavis tied the game up in the bottom of the 8th with a Homerun and then in the extras Chavis drove in the Winning Run.
