The Pirates have done well in this Series against the Marlins, and it might just be the Ke’Bryan Hayes effect. In only his second game back in two months, Hayes hit that two-run Homer in the Win Friday night. Fans are happy to see him back and they’ll be happy to know another Bucco returned to the lineup on Sunday.
In the Finale against Miami, in the Bottom of the First with Adam Frazier on Third. Welcome back Captain Redbeard. Colin Moran jumped back into the Starting Lineup after a 28-day absence due to that left groin injury he obtained against the Cubs. Moran back like he never left. The First Baseman doubles to the deep right field corner, his 8th double this Season. Frazier scores and the Pirates are the first on the board and the dugout is happy to see Redbeard back on base.
In the Top of the 2nd, Miami’s Jesus Agular sends a bomb 444 feet to tie things up early in this ball game. That’s his 2nd Homer of this Series.
In the Top of the 6th with 2 runners on and no outs, Short Stop Eric Gonzales makes a costly error at second base. The Marlins score and take a 2-1 lead. The next batter is Agular who gave the Pirates trouble in the 2nd. He hits a sac-fly for the Marlins to take two run lead.
Marlins Win the last game of the Series 3-1, but the Pirates Win the Series. They are 23-35 on the Season and sitting in last place in the NL Central.
The Pirates have a day off on Monday. They only have 5 off days in the month of June, so lots of Baseball coming your way. They start a Three Game Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at home Tuesday night around 7pm.
