Pirates vs. Brewers Game 3

It’s been a rocky go for the Pirates this Season. They are below .500, last in the NL Central, and have seen a few too many losing streaks. There have been 3 separate times where the Buccos lost 6 in a row. Before Saturday afternoon’s Game, the Pirates were on a 5 Game losing streak giving the Brewers a chance to make that another 6 game losing streak.

Game 3 of the set in Pittsburgh against the leaders in the Division.

In the Top of the 1st, two on two outs. Avi Garcia to the track. Christina Yelich scores. Brewers add another run making it 2-0.

In the Top of the 2nd, Garcia back to bat with Runners on the corners. He brings in another Run. Garcia racked up 5 RBIs on Saturday. In only the 2nd Inning, the Pirates down 5-0. Jared Olivia will brings Ben Gamel in from second.

In the next Inning the defense steps up. Two ducks on the pond, one at third. Short Stop Kevin Newman to Stallings at home. What a play by Newman to get the ball home.

In the 6th Inning, two outs but Milwaukee keeps it rolling. They had 16 hits on the night.

In the Bottom of the 8th, the Brewers leading 9-1. Ben Gamel giving his former Team a reminder of his game, hitting a Home Run.

The Brewers go on to Win this game 11-2. That’s 11 straight Wins for Milwaukee and 6 straight losses for the Pirates. Sunday afternoon will hold the Series Finale, the first pitch going out at 1:05pm.

Now this might not be your favorite Series this Season, but I’m sure it is for one young buc. In Thursday’s Series Opener, 11-year-old Christian Gale leaning over the rails to catch a Bryan Reynolds foul ball. Gale got a high five from Brewers star Christian Yelich, but had his sharpie out and ready for an autograph. Well Yelich noticed and when the young fan returned Friday night he had a big surprise — an autographed bat waiting for Gale that said “Great catch, see you in the Show.” It’s moments like these that make you just love sports.
