Pirates All Star Starters

As the Mid-Summer Classic draws near and the First Pitch at Coors Field will go off just after 7:30pm on Tuesday, the Pirates will be extremely well represented in the NL Starting line-up.

Of course Adam Frazier will start at Second Base, we already knew that. He is in the midst of a Career year that’s seen him lead Major League Baseball in Hits with 115 while hitting .330, which is good enough for Second in the National League.

But joining him now is Bryan Reynolds. He was selected as an All Star Reserve after Braves Center Fielder Ronald Acuna Jr was lost for the Season after tearing his ACL jumping for a line drive. Not only will Reynolds join Frazier on the Squad, but Manager Dave Roberts announced he too will start in Center Field. Reynolds will hit 8th followed by Frazier who will bat in the nine hole. On the Season he is hitting for a .302/.387/.519 slash line. He has already hit 16 Home Runs, which ties a Career-high.

In a Season of downs for the Buccos, this represents a nice high to close out the first half of the Season.
