Pens Lose 3 Straight

A last placed team at home seemed like it could be the perfect recipe for ending a 2-game losing streak but someone forgot to tell the New Jersey Devils.

They entered play against the Pens last night in the Metro basement because they sure didn’t play like it.

Less than 7 minutes into last nights matchup at PPG Paints arena the Devils were staked to a 3-0 lead behind a pair of goals from Jesper Bratt and another from Yegor Sharangovich.

The Pens were fighting a near impossible uphill battle.

Fast foward to the second period it was 4-0 when Evgeni Malkin scored on the power play and it seemed like the Penguins might have life but the devils scored the games final 2 goals and Tristan Jarry was pulled for Casey Desmith.

The Pens went down in regulation for the third straight game 6-1.

Mike Sullivan knows his team must continue to work on playing a tighter game in front of their netminder.

Saturday the Pens get the second placed NY Rangers.
