Penn State Football

Even during a pandemic, Penn State football is a year round topic especially in this. When the university athletic director had a session with the media this week, it was the prime topic of conversation first whats the status of the Blue White game in the Spring.

“At this point we don’t know,if we had it now we could only have 25 hundred people in the stadium, and the big ten may have a say, even if we have it with just players families on hand, its too early to tell”

Unless told otherwise, the Nittany Lions are preparing for on field practices in the Spring and despite the disappointing outcome last season head coach James Franklin getting a vote of confidence

“Its going to be a different 2021 team, whether through graduation, players going to the NFL,transfers. I support James and I’m excited for the 2021 season”

Football is the major financial provider sport for Penn State’s athletic program, but despite the multi-million dollar loss in revenue no plans to cut other sports

“Other school have made cuts in programs, we’re not, I’m not interested in that”

Early projections on the pandemic related revenue loss for Penn State’s athletic department were as high as 90 million dollars, but Barbour says that number is now closer to 20,25 million

One other note, the AD expects fans will be in the stands for the upcoming season. they don’t know if its will be the 107 thousand capacity, or less, but spectators are expected back here at beaver stadium.
