To combat the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn Highlands Healthcare is now providing rapid COVID-19 testing for patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
“We are pleased to announce that we are now offering COVID-19 rapid testing for people in our communities which is expected to provide results in 24 hours or less,” said Mark Norman, Chief Operating Officer for Penn Highlands.
This announcement made Thursday by Penn Highlands officials amid the COVID-19 fall resurgence.
“We have an adequate supply of tests at this time but that could change due to demand or increases in virus cases,” said Norman.
Mark Norman said you should get tested if you have any of these symptoms:
Loss of taste, fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, diarrhea or vomiting.
He also said you’re eligible to get a rapid test if you believe you have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive person.
“Patients can walk in at any of these facilities to get a provider’s order and receive the rapid test if they have symptoms or have been exposed,” he said.
Rapid testing is available at Penn Highland’s QCare communities in Clearfield, DuBois, Punxsutawney, Moshannon Valley, Saint Mary’s & Huntingdon urgent care.
“If someone is looking for a certain type of COVID test, we’d urge them to please contact their primary care provider or got to the Penn Highlands My Healthnow app and select QCARE now,” said Norman.
