Penguins Prepare for Game 2

It was less than an ideal start for the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Playoff run Sunday at home in Game number one against the New York Islanders. The Isles did not play like a team that lost 6 out of 8 to the Pens this year. Despite an insane Goal from Sidney Crosby giving the Pens a Second Period lead, the Isles rallied for a 3-2 lead late in the Third before Kasperi Kapanen forced Overtime. The Isles would prevail off the fourth suspect goal Tristan Jarry allowed on the day to Kyle Palmeri in Overtime. The Penguins lost 4-3.

Despite all that, Head Coach Mike Sullivan said in an interview that he will stick with Jarry for Game 2 and believes Jarry will respond in the next game.

Center Evgeni Malkin was a late scratch as he deals with a lower body injury which was a tough blow for the Pens’ attack. On Monday, he skated full contact and is nearing in on a return for Game Two, but its very much up in the air. See video for comments from Coach Sullivan…

The Penguins vs. Islanders Series will continue Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena.
