With all the focus on the Buccos Home Opener Yesterday it was possible to forget the Pens were in action on the road still fighting for playoff positioning and they turned in a pretty solid effort to rally for a point against the New York Islanders
It was Jake Guentzel who tied the game up at 3 after 2 before the Islanders took a 4-3 lead courtesy of Josh Bailey in the third period but Jake Guentzel wasn’t done here is a beautiful goal and we were tied at 4 a piece
And headed into overtime in the extra session Ilya Sorokin robs Guentzel or that could’ve been 4 goals for number 59 Sorokin made 43 saves and this one went to a shootout Kyle Palmeris goal on Casey Desmith proved to be the difference maker and the Pens fell 5-4 but were able to manage a point
