Penguins Highlights

The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

New Jersey’s Kyle Palmieri scored the Devils’ only goal in the first period.

The Penguins then answered in the second with two goals in a span of 1:36, including a go-ahead Power Play goal by Bryan Rust.

Forward Zach Aston-Reese scored the tying goal for the Pens, and Jake Guentzel added a goal in the third frame.

Goalie Casey DeSmith stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced in the victory.

The Pens and Devils will square off again Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Sunday’s game will be the first in a five-game home stand for the Penguins.
