Pegula Advances in French Open

Penn State fans should recognize the name you see here Pegula.

Terry and Kim Pegula donated over $100 millions dollars to the university for a state of the art dual purpose arena with 2 ice rinks.

Better known Today as the Pegula Ice Center.

Terry and Kim Pegula also own the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.

But we aren’t talking about them Today, rather their Daughter, Jessica who advanced to the quarterfinals of the French Open

World ranked number 11 Jessica Pegula defeated Irina Camelia Begu in 3 sets to advance on the clay courts in Paris.

After losing the first set 4-6, Pegula powered through taking the next two sets 6-2 and 6-3.

Pegula is now the 3rd American Woman to reach the quarterfinals of this year’s French Open.

The other two American Women will face each other in the next round of play

18Th seeded Coco Gauff will face Sloan Stephens Tuesday morning at 7;30

These two have only met once before.

Last year in the first round of the us open where stephens defeated guaff in two straight sets

Peugla on the other hand will face world number 1 Iga Scheontek from Poland

No American Men are left in the tournament. But the ladies are represeting acorss the big pond
