Pa. Democrats React To Trump Visits

President Trump’s rally across the state comes nearly a week before the election, and democrats are speaking out against Trump saying he has no plan for the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I don’t believe that the president right now understands what Americans are going through,” said Gillian Kratzer, Blair County Democratic Chair.

That statement coming from Gillian Kratzer after speaking to multiple health workers in Blair County.

She said their hospitals are doing the best they can, but President Trump isn’t setting a good example.

“As long as there continues to be these events that he’s having that are incredibly unsafe, gathering so many people together in the middle of a pandemic,” said Kratzer.

One of those gatherings took place in Johnstown Monday evening, where US Senator Bob Casey said Trump will not acknowledge the raging COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think the likelihood of the president having a strategy on the virus is probably unlikely,” said Senator Casey.

The senator referring to the White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows’ comments after saying that the US is quote not going to control the coronavirus pandemic.

But according to Senator Casey, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have a seven-point plan to address COVID-19.

He said part of that plan is to fix President Trump’s testing and tracing fiasco.

“I can’t believe we’re still talking about this…7-8 months into this still no strategy for testing,” he said.

Senator Casey said this plan will address the country’s PPE shortage for good.

“Never again should the United States of America, the most powerful country in human history have trouble making enough gowns and masks and gloves,” he said.

The senator also called out President Trump on his lack of preparation not only on a nationwide level but on a local level, right here in Pennsylvania.

“He doesn’t have a plan as president, nor does he offer a plan as a candidate. Why doesn’t he tell us what he’s going to do to help Pennsylvania if he were to be re-elected?,” questioned Senator Casey.

Senator Casey said Joe Biden has a plan for Pennsylvania to bring in more jobs and affordable health care coverage to all Pennsylvanians.
