Operation Beyoutiful

This time last year we introduced you to Operation BeYoutiful, a local nonprofit that gives free wigs to women and girls who face medically related hair loss. The nonprofit has teamed up with a local salon to give even more.

“Last year we helped 23 women and this year so far we’re up to 45. It’s amazing, our word is getting out, our mission is getting out,” said Operation BeYoutiful co-founder Andi Palmar.

Lush Salon in Windber has partnered with Operation BeYoutiful to give free spa treatments to women and girls in their program. They’ll be able to receives services such as scalp treatments, manicures, pedicures and much more. When women receive their wigs through Richland salon Nu-Hart Hair they can then receive a full makeover at Lush Salon.

“You can really see when women come in and when they leave they just you know they just have a little bit more step in their walk when they leave here because they just feel good about themselves,” said Tracy Todorich the owner of Lush Salon.

Palmar and Todorich hope this addition to the Operation BeYoutiful’s mission will help more women heal and feel like themselves again. If you or someone you know may benefit from Operation BeYoutiful’s services they encourage you to reach out.

To support the nonprofit, you can visit their website to donate. Starting October 20, they will sell tickets for their Holiday Haul Raffle. Items such as jewelry packages and experiences like a golf trip valued at $2,000 will be raffled off.
