The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,023 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday, bringing the statewide total to 1,174,687 throughout all 67 counties since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health officials say 90 percent of the state’s total cases are considered to be recovered and 3,897,192 Pennsylvanians have been fully vaccinated.
All adults are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, the Pennsylvania Department of Health
State health officials reported seven new COVID-related deaths across the state, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 26,550.
According to the Department of Health’s hospital dashboard, 1,798 people are hospitalized with the virus across Pennsylvania and and 406 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
There have been 75,513 confirmed cases in our 10-county viewing area since the start of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health, and 1,725 deaths.
There were 59 new cases and one more death reported in our viewing area Monday.
Blair and Cambria reported increases of 16 new cases, Centre and Clearfield reported eight, Somerset reported six, Bedford reported three and Elk and Jefferson each reported one.
Clearfield reported the only COVID-related death in our area Monday.
According to the Department of Health, 4,467,488 patients have tested negative for the virus.
