An update to a story we brought you earlier this week about a sign being hung from a building in Centre County that has, once again, grabbed the attention of Residents and Borough Officials. A second banner in less than a week was hung on the State College Municipal Building late Friday night. This one makes a direct accusation towards all the Borough workers inside. The handmade sign on the front of the Municipal Building is, yet again, capturing the community’s attention. A few days after a first banner read “You are all Officer One” was hung, on Friday night another popped up. This time the red paint accusing the State College Police Department of murder. Both have since been removed by the Borough for not having the proper permits to be hanging on a public building.
The 3/20 Coalition is the Organization who said they hung the first banner out of frustration over still not knowing who were the Officers involved in Osaze Osagie’s shooting back in 2019. Officials from the 3/20 Coalition would not tell me if they were behind this new one, only saying they are aware that State College Residents will continue to demand accountability for Osaze’s death.
Osagie was shot and killed after State College Police say he charged at them with a knife during a 302 warrant. The Centre County District Attorney, Bernie Cantorna, then ruled the shooting was justified.
