That announcement coming from the acting secretary of health as the state reached 52.7% of the adult population with full vaccinations.
But state officials say businesses, municipalities and school districts can still instill a mask mandate.
Local business owners I spoke with are excited for this news.
Sarah Zwick, a State Farm agent in Dubois says they wear masks whenever customers come into the building.
With this new mandate, she says she’s ready for some normalcy.
“We’re just excited to get back to that normal life. It’s def a habit to wear a mask now so it’s going to be another adjustment but we’re all very excited for that and I think our customers are too.”
