National Blue Ribbon School

A local elementary school was named a National Blue-Ribbon School by the Department of Education.

The principal of Conemaugh Township Elementary says this is the second time in ten years that they have won this national distinction.

She says they won for being a high performing school, which means they were measured on things such as academic achievement and community support.

“We have a strong bond between staff, students, teachers, parents, the community. The school is the hub, and just bringing kids back during a pandemic has been an amazing feat for us, and it has gone very, very well,” said principal Nicole Dull.

The Department of Education selected 367 schools across the country for this award.
