Nassib Reactions

Starting things off with the NFL where a former Penn State Nittany Lion made some history Yesterday. Carl Nassib made a big impact during his time in Happy Valley and now he’s making a
big dent in the league in more ways than one

During an Instagram post Yesterday the current Las Vegas Raider came out as gay. He becomes the first active NFL player to do so the response across the league has been very positive with
several messages coming from the likes commissioner Roger Godell many players and the Raiders organization.

Penn State head coach James Franklin said he was proud of Carl and believes he’s forging a path for others in his message Nassib donated 100,000 dollars to the Trevor
Project which provides intervention and suicide prevention services for the LGBTQ+ community. Nassib said he’s been wanting to do this for awhile and he wants to start to change the
narrative

“I’m a pretty private person so I hope you guys know I’m not doing this for attention. I just think that representation and visibility are so important. I actually hope that one day,
videos like this and people coming out process are not necessary. Until then I’m going to do my best and do my part to cultivate a culture that’s accepting and compassionate.”

Nassib is currently in the 2nd of a 3 year deal with the Raiders with 16.75 million dollars guaranteed
