Tuesdays borough council meeting in Nanty Glo had tensions running high. According to the Mayor.
At the meeting a new council member was voted in after one of the council seats was left vacant following a member’s death last month.
Nanty Glo Mayor Bill Ray tells us 3 people were vying for the seat and the final vote resulted in arguments and several people walking out of the meeting.
Those opposed say some of the council members did not consult the others, before making the decision.
“I would just like to see more people get involved with Nanty Glo. This town is dying and it’s dying because there is no present day thought. We can’t exist in 2022 with ideas from 2000 or even later.”
In the end Bill Dencheck was chosen to fill the seat for the remainder of the term.
We reached out to the President of Nanty Glo Borough Council for comment and have not heard back.
