There was another house fire in Johnstown this Morning.
It happened around 8:30 on the 600 block of Coleman Avenue.
Crews say heavy smoke was seen coming from the home when they arrived.
The family was able to escape but one cat died in the fire.
After several fires in the Moxham neighborhood recently, Johnstown’s Assistant Fire Chief Jason Novack. Knows how quickly these situations can escalate.
“If you see, in an urban setting buildings are built really close to each other. There was no codes in the 1800’s when they built some of these homes. So if you get fire
spreading you get two houses, you get three houses, you get four houses like you’ve seen in the past.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
