Some residents got into the holiday spirit tonight with the area’s first light up night and parade.
The parade began on Russell Avenue and ended at the Russell House. After that, all of the lights on Village Street were lit up and live entertainment played for the audience.
Organizers would light up night, say they wanted to change the perception of Moxham and show the positives the district has to offer.
“My objective was to change the narrative of Moxham so many times, like we just hear all the bad things that happen in Moxham, but nobody knows that there’s great things, great people.
I just want to thank the community for it. first of all, coming out and second of all, like, I just want them to get ready because more good things are coming. ”
Next week, the Russell House will hold their 22nd annual Christmas on Saturday and Sunday.
