A pivotal weekend for the second COVID-19 Vaccine approved for Emergency Use in the U.S. On Saturday, a top Official with Operation Warp Speed announced distribution for Moderna’s Vaccine is already underway. This all comes as the U.S. is dealing with another record-breaking COVID-19 surge.
Another step closer to ending the brutal Pandemic. The FDA has authorized Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine for Emergency Use in the U.S. as the Country reports a record number of new Coronavirus cases. On Saturday, the Army General in charge of COVID-19 Vaccine shipments announced distribution of Moderna’s Vaccine has already begun with USP and FedEx trucks rolling out starting Sunday. General Gustave Perna also took responsibility for miscommunication with States about how many Pfizer Vaccine doses would be initially available to them.
On Friday, the Country broke a record, reporting more than 249,000 new COVID-19 infections. More than 18,000 Americans died of COVID-19 in the past week. And while Health Officials urge people to stay vigilant to keep those case numbers down, they’re also cautiously optimistic about the Vaccines. Dr. Gigi El-Bayoumi, Professor of Medicine at George Washington University saying: “We are so anxious to get it out to people’s arms. I think we will have a big celebration once we get things in control because it’s a big accomplishment.”
