Mapleton Fire Department’s 100th Anniversary

This weekend marks the Mapleton Fire Department’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Along with the celebration, the department will be hosting several Memorial Day themed events, including the Maple Leak 5k run, the fire queen and princess pageant and the traditional Memorial Day parade.

The full list of events include:

SATURDAY, MAY 29th

8 AM Maple Leak 5k Run / Walk, Riverside Park (registration open at 7 AM)
8 AM Historical Society opened till Noon
9 AM Vendor and Food Stands along Sugar Street
10 AM Kids games near playground till 4 PM
10:30 AM Smokey Bear visit Sugar Street
Noon Chicken BBQ at American Legion pavilion
11 AM The Potters Band (under the tent near playground)
11 AM Swimming Pool opens
1 PM fire department’s 100th Anniversary program
1:30 PM Fire Queen & Princess pageant, as well as the past queen & princess reunion
6 PM fire dept. members, past members meal at Riverside Park
7 PM Splash Party at Pool, sponsored by County Line Inn

SUNDAY, MAY 30th

10 AM Community Church Service pavilion at Riverside Park
11 AM community swimming pool opens
1 PM Community Meal at Riverside Park (bring a cover side dish and your family, meat is provided. EVERYONE is welcomed.)

MONDAY, MAY 31st

Traditional Memorial Day Parade moves at 9 AM; Procession will travel traditional route through town and out to IOOF Cemetery
9AM Historical Society opens till 1PM
Memorial Day Service at IOOF Cemetery and United Brethren Cemetery
11 AM community swimming pool opens
Flag folding ceremony Main Street near fire hall
